About Us
Founded in 1984, the Child Welfare Institute (CWI) has earned a national reputation for delivering quality consultation and training to both public and private child welfare and human service agencies.
Our experience with the public and private sectors is wide-ranging. For 13 years, CWI operated two national resource centers under cooperative agreements with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services - The National Resource Center for Foster Care and Residential Care (1985-1990) and the National Resource Center for Child Maltreatment (1996-2004). We have helped make a difference in almost all state child welfare systems.
Today, we remain dedicated to working collaboratively with clients to achieve measurable results and ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families nationwide.
